These tutorials should cover all of the basics to the Happily Holistic website. Unfortunately, I was unable to upload the videos directly to this site without having to use YouTube. YouTube has recently changed the maximum length allowance for each video to 10 min...this is why I have so many tutorials here. Also, in having to upload them to YouTube, the quality of the picture is weak. In case you are having a hard time seeing the videos and following along, I have them available for you to download.

Please take the time to look over all of the videos. There are some minor details that you will need to know in order to keep the site consistent. I've worked through most of the issues and will take you step by step in working through them, as well. This will save you a lot of time.

Once you get the hang of all the minor details, you will find that working with Wordpress is a synch. Wordpress allows you to manage your own blog without having to use free blog sites, such as blogger.com, which really limit the design of the site.

Note that I may have changed some things around on the site before you get the chance to watch all of the videos. But, the overall functions of the site will stay intact.

How to Change the Image Size to Fit Properly onto the Homepage

    *This is when you are posting an article under News, Supplements, or Fitness

How to Add an Article into Recipes or Supplements with a Thumbnail

Things to Remember:

1. When posting an article use Calibri (11pt) to ensure that the font is consistent throughout the site.                                  

2. The dimensions for thumbnail images are 90x55 pixels or 1.25x0.764 inches. The images must be this size in order for them to appear on the homepage.

3.  Make sure that the code for adding a thumbnail to a post looks like this....

                                   http://happilyholistic.com/wp-content/themes/revolution_tech-20/Thumbnail/PortSandwich.jpg

                                   Make sure to take out '/home/posskle4/public_html/Blog' 

                                        ***Otherwise the thumbnail will not show up.***

4. You may have to play with the size of the image within the post so that the text is either beside or below it.

*Most Importantly* Please double and triple check that your post is in the right category and respected group and also double check your post after you publish it to make sure that everything is correct. There are a lot of little things that could go wrong.

Here is a check list to avoid complications...

    Did I post under 'post' and not 'page'?

    Did I hit 'publish' and not just 'save'?

    Are the images the right size in the post and does the text fall nicely along side or below it?

    Does the thumbnail show up on the homepage? Did I add one to any article posted under 'recipes' or 'supplements'?

    Do I have the article posted under the right category?

    Did I add the breakline within the post to limit the text?

    Wordpress Back Office---> Manage----> Pages----> then just edit it like you would a post.
